ByTheWeb GEO lets you describe the services your organization provides and define a dedicated customer support contact using structured Schema.org data.
These are two separate features:
Services use Service Schema to describe what your organization provides.
Customer Support Contact uses ContactPoint Schema to describe how customers can contact your organization for support.
For an overview of the complete structured data system, see Entity & Schema Overview.
Where to Configure Services and Customer Support
In WordPress, go to:
ByTheWeb GEO > GEO Settings > Entity & Schema
You will find two separate sections:
Customer Support Contact
Schema: ContactPoint
Services
Schema: Service
Each feature has its own enable switch and configuration.
Customer Support Contact
The Customer Support Contact section lets you define the main customer support channel for your website or organization.
Enable:
Add customer support ContactPoint
Then click:
Configure Contact
The available fields are:
- Support Email
- Support Phone
- Support Area
The support language is added automatically from the WordPress site language.
Support Email
Enter the public email address customers should use for support.
For example:
support@example.com
When a valid email address is provided, ByTheWeb GEO can add it to the ContactPoint as the support email.
Support Phone
Enter the public customer support phone number.
For example:
+1 212 555 0100
When provided, it is used as the ContactPoint telephone number.
Support Area
Support Area is optional.
Use it to describe the main geographic area served by this support contact.
For example:
United Kingdom
London
United States
New York
When provided, ByTheWeb GEO uses this information as the ContactPoint areaServed value.
Support Language
There is no separate Support Language field.
ByTheWeb GEO automatically uses the current WordPress site language as the ContactPoint availableLanguage.
If the site language changes in WordPress, the applicable ContactPoint language follows the WordPress setting.
What Is Required for a Customer Support ContactPoint?
Enabling the feature alone is not enough to generate an empty ContactPoint.
A usable Support Email or Support Phone must be available.
Support Area by itself does not create the ContactPoint.
When generated, the ContactPoint uses:
contactType: customer support
together with the available email, telephone, service area, and site language information.
Customer Support Contact vs. Primary Entity Contact Details
These settings serve different purposes.
The Primary Entity can contain the main public email and phone number for an Organization.
The Customer Support Contact is a separate ContactPoint specifically describing the customer support channel.
For example, an organization could have:
Primary Entity Email:info@example.com
and:
Customer Support Email:support@example.com
The dedicated Customer Support fields do not replace the Primary Entity contact details.
For the main Organization or Person settings, see Primary Entity – Organization & Person.
How Customer Support Connects to the Primary Entity
When the Primary Entity feature is enabled, ByTheWeb GEO can connect the Customer Support ContactPoint to that primary entity.
The ContactPoint remains its own Schema node and the primary entity references it as its customer support contact.
If no usable primary entity is available, a valid ContactPoint can still exist independently in the Schema graph.
What Happens with Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO?
When Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO manages the site’s core Schema, ByTheWeb GEO does not replace the provider’s primary entity.
ByTheWeb GEO adds its own supported Customer Support ContactPoint.
When Primary Entity Enrichment is enabled and a usable primary entity is available, the ContactPoint can be connected to the primary entity managed by the external SEO provider.
This lets ByTheWeb add the customer support information without creating a competing core Organization or Person entity.
For more information, see Requirements & Compatibility.
Services
The Services section lets you describe the main services provided by your organization using Schema.org Service entities.
Enable:
Enable Service Schema
Then click:
Manage Services
Each service is configured separately.
What Can I Add to a Service?
Each Service contains the following fields:
Service Name
The clear customer-facing name of the service.
For example:
WordPress Website Development
A Service Name is required for that Service to be included in the Schema output.
Description
A short factual description of what the service provides.
Main Service Page
The main page on your website that explains the service.
For example:
Leave this field blank if there is no dedicated service page.
Service Type
An optional broader category for the service.
For example:
Web Development
Consulting
Legal Services
This is used as the Schema serviceType value.
Service Area
An optional geographic area where the service is offered.
For example:
Worldwide
London
New York
This is used as the Service areaServed value.
Add Multiple Services
ByTheWeb GEO supports multiple Service entities.
Use:
+ Add Service
to create another Service.
Create separate Services when they have different:
- Names
- Types
- Descriptions
- URLs
- Service areas
For example, an agency could create separate Services for:
WordPress Development
SEO Consulting
Website Maintenance
Each becomes a separate Service entity rather than combining all offerings into a single generic service.
Duplicate or Remove a Service
Existing Service rows include a:
Duplicate
action.
Use it when a new Service shares similar information with an existing one, then edit the copied fields.
Additional Service entries can also be removed using:
Remove Service
If you do not want Service Schema at all, disable Enable Service Schema.
Where Is Service Schema Output?
When Service Schema is enabled, ByTheWeb GEO generates configured Services on the site’s applicable front page or WordPress posts page.
Only Service entries with a Service Name are included.
Each Service receives its own Schema entity.
Additional information such as Service Type, URL, Description, and Service Area is included only when the corresponding field contains a value.
How Services Connect to the Primary Entity
When the Primary Entity feature is enabled and a usable primary entity exists, ByTheWeb GEO can identify that entity as the Service provider.
This creates a relationship between:
The Organization or Person
and:
The Service it provides
If the Primary Entity feature is disabled or no usable primary entity can be resolved, configured Services can still exist without that provider relationship.
What Happens to Services with Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO?
When Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO manages the site’s core Schema, the external provider remains responsible for its primary entity.
ByTheWeb GEO can still add its supported Service Schema.
When Primary Entity Enrichment is enabled and the provider’s primary entity can be resolved, ByTheWeb GEO links the Service to that existing primary entity rather than creating a separate competing core Organization or Person.
The Service itself remains a separate Service entity.
Services vs. Business Locations
A Service describes what your organization provides.
A Business Location describes where a physical business operates.
For example:
Business Location
Hotel
350 Fifth Avenue, New York
Open Monday-Sunday
Service
Event Hosting
Available in New Yorkhttps://example.com/events/
An organization can have multiple Business Locations and multiple Services at the same time.
For physical locations, business types, opening hours, GPS coordinates, and location-specific contact information, see Business Locations & LocalBusiness Schema.
Service Area vs. Business Location
A Service does not need a physical address.
Its Service Area describes where that particular service is offered.
A Business Location, by comparison, represents a physical place and can contain an address, GPS coordinates, opening hours, and other location information.
This makes Service Schema suitable for both location-based and non-location-specific services.
Do Services Need Their Own WordPress Pages?
No.
The Main Service Page field is optional.
If a dedicated service page exists, you can enter its URL.
If no dedicated page exists, leave the field blank. The Service can still be represented using its other configured information.
Do Services and Customer Support Require AI Credits?
No.
Configuring and outputting:
- Service Schema
- Customer Support ContactPoint Schema
are local ByTheWeb GEO features.
They do not require a ByTheWeb AI API connection or AI credits.
