Social Image (OG)

When ByTheWeb GEO is the active SEO provider, you can set a site-wide default Open Graph image and override it for individual supported posts, pages, and taxonomy terms. For posts and pages, ByTheWeb GEO can also use the Featured Image when no custom Social Media Image is set. The selected image is used in the applicable og:image and twitter:image metadata.

If Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO is active, ByTheWeb GEO leaves the overlapping Open Graph and Twitter Card metadata to that SEO provider instead of generating competing social metadata.

Why this matters?

  • Maximized Click-Through Rates (CTR): A highly relevant, properly cropped preview image is the single biggest factor in getting users to stop scrolling and click your link on social media.

  • Brand Control: Ensures that every time your URL is shared—whether by your marketing team or your readers—it represents your brand perfectly and professionally.

  • Fail-Safe Reliability: By setting a global fallback image, you guarantee that even older pages or archives without a featured image will still generate a beautiful social card when shared.

What’s Include?

  • Per-Page Customization: Easily upload or select a custom Open Graph image for any individual piece of content directly from the GEO meta box.

  • Global Default Image: Define a site-wide Open Graph image that ByTheWeb GEO can use when no higher-priority image is available for supported content.

  • Automatic Social Metadata: When ByTheWeb GEO is the active SEO provider and an image is available, it outputs the applicable og:image and twitter:image metadata in the page <head>.

  • Optimal Sizing Guides: Built-in UI reminders for the optimal 1200×630 pixel dimensions to prevent awkward cropping on social feeds.

What’s with Credits?

No Credits Required: Managing your Open Graph images and social metadata is a core SEO feature. Assigning and outputting these tags is 100% free to use and requires zero AI generation credits.

  • Help search engines and AI systems understand the purpose of your content with more specific WebPage Schema types. • ByTheWeb GEO lets you define the primary entity represented by your website as an Organization or Person and add structured details such as name, description, logo, contact information, and official sameAs profile links. When ByTheWeb GEO manages the site’s Schema, it can generate the primary entity as part of its structured data graph. When Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO is active, ByTheWeb GEO preserves the provider’s core primary entity and enriches that existing Schema with supported GEO data instead of creating a competing entity.

ByTheWeb GEO lets you configure one or more Business Locations with structured LocalBusiness data, including address, service area, opening hours, map coordinates, contact details, and the most accurate supported Schema.org business type. You can also define multiple Service entities, giving machines clearer structured context about both where your business operates and the services it provides.
  • Make your website hierarchy easier for users, search engines, and AI systems to understand. When ByTheWeb GEO is managing your site’s SEO and Schema layer, it can generate `BreadcrumbList` structured data based on the current WordPress page hierarchy. You can also display a visible breadcrumb trail using the ByTheWeb shortcode or Elementor widget.
