Extra Credits provide an additional one-time AI credit balance for a domain that already has an active paid ByTheWeb subscription.
They are separate from the normal monthly credit allowance included with your subscription.
Unlike normal monthly subscription credits, Extra Credits do not reset at the end of the monthly credit cycle.
What Are Extra Credits?
A normal ByTheWeb subscription provides a defined monthly AI credit allowance.
Extra Credits are additional one-time credits that can be purchased for the same connected domain.
They are stored separately from the normal monthly allowance and can be used when the monthly allowance has been exhausted.
ByTheWeb AI identifies these packages in WordPress as:
Extra Packages (No Expiry)
and describes them as:
Credits (One-time, doesn’t expire)
Who Can Purchase Extra Credits?
Extra Credit packages are available only for domains with an active paid subscription.
They are not a standalone replacement for a normal ByTheWeb subscription.
If the connected domain does not have an eligible active paid subscription, an Extra Credit package cannot be purchased for that domain.
Can I Purchase Extra Credits During the Free Trial?
No.
The free trial is not an active paid subscription.
Extra Credit packages require an active paid base subscription.
If you are using the free trial and need continued AI usage after the trial allowance is exhausted or the trial ends, you must first activate an eligible paid subscription.

How Are Extra Credits Different from Monthly Credits?
Your normal subscription credits and Extra Credits are two separate balances.
Monthly Subscription Credits
Normal subscription credits:
- Are included with your active subscription
- Have a monthly allowance defined by your plan
- Reset on the monthly credit cycle
- Do not roll over into the following monthly period
Extra Credits
Extra Credits:
- Are purchased separately
- Are added as a one-time credit balance
- Do not reset during the normal monthly reset
- Remain available until used while the domain has an eligible active subscription
Which Credits Are Used First?
ByTheWeb uses the normal monthly allowance before Extra Credits.
The usage order is:
- Available monthly subscription credits
- Extra Credits
Extra Credits are therefore used only after the normal monthly allowance has been exhausted.
Example of Monthly Credits and Extra Credits
Suppose your active plan provides:
10,000 monthly credits
and your domain also has:
5,000 Extra Credits
AI actions first use the normal monthly allowance.
If you use all 10,000 monthly credits, further eligible AI usage can use the Extra Credits balance.
At the next monthly reset, the normal subscription allowance resets according to your plan.
Any unused Extra Credits remain in the separate Extra Credits balance.
Do Extra Credits Reset Every Month?
No.
The monthly reset applies to the normal subscription allowance.
Extra Credits are not removed simply because a new monthly credit period begins.
Any unused Extra Credits remain stored separately.
Do Extra Credits Expire?
Extra Credits do not expire through the normal monthly credit-reset process.
However, an active base subscription is required to use them.
If the base subscription is no longer active, the remaining Extra Credits are kept dormant in the account until an eligible subscription is active again.
What Does Dormant Mean?
Dormant Extra Credits remain associated with the account and domain, but they cannot be used for AI generation while there is no active eligible base subscription.
If an eligible subscription is reactivated, the remaining Extra Credits can become available for use again.
What Happens If I Cancel My Subscription?
Cancelling a subscription stops its automatic renewal.
Under the current ByTheWeb Terms, access to the paid plan continues until the end of the current paid billing period.
When the base subscription is no longer active, remaining Extra Credits are kept dormant rather than being consumed or reset.
To use those remaining Extra Credits again, an eligible base subscription must be active.

What Happens to Extra Credits at the Monthly Reset?
The normal monthly usage cycle is reset.
Extra Credits are not reset with it.
If AI usage during the previous cycle exceeded the normal monthly allowance, the amount used beyond that allowance is accounted for against the Extra Credits balance.
The new monthly cycle then begins with the normal monthly allowance provided by the active subscription.
Can I Purchase Extra Credits More Than Once?
Yes.
When an eligible Extra Credit package is purchased, its credits are added to the domain’s existing Extra Credits balance.
A later eligible Extra Credit purchase adds its credits to the remaining Extra Credits balance rather than replacing that balance.
Where Can I Buy Extra Credits?
In WordPress, open:
ByTheWeb AI > API Connection & Credits
For an eligible connected domain, the page displays the available Extra Credit package or packages below the normal subscription plans.
The Extra Credit section displays information such as:
- Package name
- Number of credits
- One-time pricing
- Buy Extra action
The available package information is retrieved from ByTheWeb Cloud.
Is an Extra Credit Purchase a Subscription?
No.
Extra Credit packages are one-time credit purchases.
They do not replace your base subscription and do not create a separate recurring Extra Credit subscription.
An active paid base subscription is still required to use the Extra Credits.
Does Buying Extra Credits Change My Normal Plan?
No.
Extra Credits are stored separately from your normal monthly subscription allowance.
Purchasing Extra Credits adds to the Extra Credits balance.
It does not replace the monthly credit allowance defined by your active subscription.
Does Buying Extra Credits Change My Monthly Reset?
No.
Your normal subscription continues to use its existing monthly credit cycle.

What Happens When I Run Out of Monthly Credits?
If the monthly allowance has been exhausted and the domain has enough available Extra Credits, eligible AI actions can continue using the Extra Credits balance.
If neither the monthly allowance nor the available Extra Credits are sufficient for an AI action, the action cannot continue.
The ByTheWeb AI interface provides access to the available subscription and Extra Credit options for an eligible connected domain.
What Happens When the Monthly Allowance Resets?
At the next monthly reset, the normal allowance becomes available again according to the active subscription.
Normal monthly credits are then used before any remaining Extra Credits.
The remaining Extra Credits stay available as the separate additional balance.
Are Extra Credits Shared Between Different Domains?
No.
ByTheWeb credit balances are associated with the registered domain.
Extra Credits purchased for one domain are added to that domain’s Extra Credits balance.
They are not a shared Extra Credit pool for unrelated registered domains.

What Happens If I Permanently Delete the Domain?
Permanently deleting a domain is different from cancelling its subscription.
Under the current ByTheWeb Terms, permanently deleting a domain or account forfeits all credits associated with it, including unused Extra Credits.
The forfeiture is immediate and irreversible.
Do not permanently delete a domain if your intention is only to stop automatic subscription renewal.

What Happens If I Delete My ByTheWeb Account?
Permanently deleting the account also forfeits its associated unused credits, including Extra Credits.
This is different from cancelling a recurring subscription.

Are Unused Extra Credits Refundable?
The current ByTheWeb Terms state that, except where a refund or cancellation right is required by applicable law, purchases are final and non-refundable.
The Terms also state that no refund is provided for unused credits forfeited when an account or domain is permanently deleted.

Do Extra Credits Affect the Cost of AI Actions?
No.
Extra Credits change the amount of AI credit balance available to the connected domain.
They do not change the credit cost assigned to individual AI actions.
For example, the current credit cost of FAQ Generation, Short Answer, AI Summary, SEO metadata, or Image Metadata Generation is determined separately.

Can Extra Credits Be Used by ByTheWeb GEO?
Supported Fix with AI actions initiated through ByTheWeb GEO use the connected ByTheWeb AI credit balance for the domain.
If the normal monthly allowance has been exhausted and Extra Credits are available, the same credit-availability logic applies to supported AI actions.

A Simple Example
Suppose your subscription provides:
10,000 Credits per month
and you purchase:
10,000 Extra Credits
During the month, you use 12,000 credits.
The first 10,000 credits are covered by the normal monthly allowance.
The additional 2,000 credits are covered by the Extra Credits balance.
That leaves:
8,000 Extra Credits
At the next monthly reset, the normal monthly allowance becomes available again.
The remaining Extra Credits stay separate.
Normal monthly credits are again used first.
When Are Extra Credits Useful?
Extra Credits provide additional AI capacity without changing the normal monthly credit allowance of the active subscription.
They can be purchased when an eligible paid domain needs AI usage beyond its normal monthly allowance.
Because the Extra Credits balance does not reset with the monthly allowance, any unused Extra Credits remain available for later eligible usage while the base subscription remains active.
