Managing Your ByTheWeb Account

Your ByTheWeb account provides one place to manage your registered website domains, API Keys, billing details, account settings, usage activity, payments, and support requests.

You can use the account together with the API Connection & Credits screen inside your WordPress website.

How Do I Open My ByTheWeb Account?

Inside WordPress, open:

ByTheWeb AI > API Connection & Credits

and select:

Account Management / Login

You can also open the ByTheWeb Cloud login directly:

ByTheWeb Account Login

After logging in, your account dashboard provides access to the account-management sections described below.

What Can I Manage from My Account?

The current ByTheWeb account dashboard includes:

  • My Domains
  • Billing Details
  • Account Settings
  • Usage & Logs
  • Invoices & Payments
  • Support

Each section manages a different part of your ByTheWeb account.

My Domains

The My Domains section shows the registered domains currently associated with your account.

Each domain is displayed separately.

For a registered domain, the account can display:

  • Domain
  • Plan
  • Billing Period
  • Monthly Quota
  • Valid Until date
  • API Key
  • Subscription status where applicable

This allows you to manage more than one registered website from the same ByTheWeb account while keeping each domain, subscription, and API Key separate.

Viewing and Copying an API Key

Each registered domain has its own API Key.

The API Key is hidden by default in the account dashboard.

You can use the visibility button to show or hide it and use Copy to copy the key.

The key is then connected to its corresponding WordPress website through:

ByTheWeb AI > API Connection & Credits

The ByTheWeb AI plugin verifies that the API Key matches the current website domain before accepting it.

For connection instructions, see:

Connect API Key

An API Key Is Connected to Its Registered Domain

A ByTheWeb API Key is not a general key that can be moved freely between unrelated websites.

When the WordPress plugin verifies a key, it sends both:

  • The API Key
  • The current website domain

If the key is invalid or does not match the current website domain, the plugin does not save it as the new connected API Key.

For domain-management information, see:

Changing / Removing a Connected Domain

Installing ByTheWeb Plugins from the Domain Card

The My Domains section includes an Install plugins on this site area for each domain.

From there, the account can provide:

  • Install on my site
  • ByTheWeb GEO on WordPress.org
  • ByTheWeb AI on WordPress.org

The Install on my site action opens the WordPress plugin installation screen for the registered domain.

Managing the Plan from the WordPress Website

Each domain card includes:

Manage Plan on Your Site

This opens:

ByTheWeb AI > API Connection & Credits

on the corresponding WordPress website.

From there you can review the current connected plan and the subscription packages available to that domain.

For plan details, see:

Plans, Billing & Credit Resets

Subscription Status

A domain can display a subscription status such as:

  • Active
  • Cancelled
  • Expired

The available management actions depend on the current status and subscription type.

Cancelling Automatic Renewal

For an eligible active paid subscription managed directly through the ByTheWeb account system, the domain card can display:

Cancel Auto Renewal

The confirmation shown by the account explains that cancelling automatic renewal does not immediately end the current subscription period.

The subscription remains available until the end of the current paid period and will not renew for another period.

For the complete cancellation rules, see:

Plans, Billing & Credit Resets

Lemon Squeezy Billing Management

If the subscription is connected to Lemon Squeezy, the account can display:

Manage Billing (Lemon Squeezy)

instead of the direct Cancel Auto Renewal action.

This opens the Lemon Squeezy billing interface used for that subscription.

Reactivating a Cancelled Subscription

When a subscription has the Cancelled status, the domain card can display:

Reactivate Subscription

Using this action changes the supported cancelled subscription back to active in the ByTheWeb account system.

Permanently Deleting a Domain

The account can display:

Permanently Delete Domain

when the domain is eligible for permanent removal.

An active paid subscription that is still within its active period cannot simply be permanently deleted through this action.

If you attempt to delete an active subscription, the account requires the subscription renewal to be cancelled first.

Trial, expired, cancelled, or otherwise eligible domain records can provide the permanent delete action according to their current status.

What Does Permanently Delete Domain Remove?

Before the action is performed, the ByTheWeb account displays a confirmation explaining that permanent domain deletion removes the API Key and all associated credits, including Extra Credits.

Under the current ByTheWeb Terms, permanently deleting a domain forfeits all unused credits associated with that domain.

This includes unused Extra Credits.

The forfeiture is immediate and irreversible.

Do not use Permanently Delete Domain if your intention is only to stop automatic subscription renewal.

For the complete explanation, see:

Changing / Removing a Connected Domain

Billing Details

The Billing Details section stores the information used for invoices and payment processing.

The available fields include:

  • Full Name / Business Name
  • Company ID / Tax ID
  • Billing Email
  • Phone
  • Country
  • State, when applicable
  • City & Street Address
  • Zipcode

Select Save Changes after updating the information.

Billing Email and Login Email Are Different

Changing the Billing Email does not change the email address used to log in to your ByTheWeb account.

The Billing Details screen explicitly treats billing information separately from the account login email.

The billing email is part of the billing information used by the account.

Your login email is managed separately under Account Settings.

Account Settings

The Account Settings section currently includes:

  • Login Credentials
  • Email Preferences
  • Danger Zone

Account Login Email

Your current account email is displayed under:

Account Login Email

The current ByTheWeb account interface marks this email as:

Cannot be changed

Changing your Billing Email therefore does not change your account login email.

Changing Your Password

Under Login Credentials, you can enter:

  • New Password
  • Confirm New Password

and select:

Change Password

The current account form requires both password fields to match and requires a password of at least six characters.

After a successful change, the new password becomes the password for the ByTheWeb account.

Forgot Your Password?

The ByTheWeb login system also provides a Forgot Password? workflow.

You can enter the username or email associated with the account.

If the account is found, the system sends the WordPress password-reset email used by the ByTheWeb account.

Email Preferences

The Email Preferences section separates important account communications from optional marketing emails.

The account shows system communications for:

  • Crucial system updates
  • Billing notifications
  • Security alerts

separately from the optional marketing preference.

You can choose whether to receive:

Promotional emails, marketing, and special offers

and save that preference using:

Save Preferences

Usage & Logs

The Usage & Logs section displays recent system activity across your registered domains.

The current account dashboard shows up to the latest 50 actions.

The activity table includes:

  • Date
  • Domain
  • Action
  • Details
  • Credits

This provides an account-level view of recorded actions associated with your domains.

Credit Usage in the Activity Log

When a logged action uses credits, the Credits column can show the corresponding credit amount.

The log can therefore help you review recorded AI activity and credit usage across the domains in your account.

The account can also record non-credit actions such as subscription-management events.

For an explanation of AI credit costs, see:

Free vs. Credits

Invoices & Payments

The Invoices & Payments section displays recorded payment activity associated with your registered domains.

The current payment history includes supported recorded events such as:

  • Subscription purchases
  • One-time purchases
  • Successful recurring payments

The table displays:

  • Date
  • Domain
  • Details
  • Action

For the payment entries displayed in this section, the current interface indicates:

Sent to Email

Billing Details Used for Invoices

The billing information stored in your account is used for invoice and payment processing.

Before purchasing a plan, make sure your billing information is accurate.

You can update it at any time from:

Billing Details

Changing those billing details does not change your account login email.

Support from Your Account

The account dashboard includes a dedicated Support section.

The support form contains:

  • Subject
  • Related Domain
  • Message

The Related Domain field lets you select one of the domains registered in the account or choose:

General Inquiry

After submission, the support request is sent to ByTheWeb support.

For the Help Center support page, see:

Contact Support

Managing Multiple Domains

A single ByTheWeb account can contain multiple registered domain records.

Each domain card maintains its own information, including its:

  • Domain
  • API Key
  • Plan
  • Billing Period
  • Monthly Quota
  • Valid Until date
  • Subscription status

Credit balances and subscriptions remain associated with their corresponding registered domains rather than forming one shared balance across all websites in the account.

Deleting Your Entire Account

The Account Settings section includes a Danger Zone with a Delete Account action.

Account deletion is permanent.

However, the account cannot be deleted while it still contains domain records in My Domains.

The interface requires you to permanently delete all domains first.

Only after there are no remaining domains does the Delete Account action become available.

Why Must Domains Be Removed First?

The ByTheWeb account system prevents account deletion while registered domain records remain attached to the account.

This ensures that domain-level subscription and credit actions are handled before the user account itself is deleted.

Remember that permanently deleting a domain forfeits its associated unused credits.

Account Deletion Cannot Be Undone

Before deleting the account, the interface displays a warning that the action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Once all domains have been removed, you can use:

Delete Account

to permanently delete the ByTheWeb account.

If account deletion fails, the current account interface instructs the user to contact support.

Domain Deletion and Account Deletion Are Different

These are two separate actions.

Permanently Delete Domain

removes an individual registered domain record and its associated API Key and credits.

Delete Account

removes the ByTheWeb user account and is only available after all domain records have first been removed.

Neither action should be confused with simply cancelling automatic subscription renewal.

Cancelling a Subscription Is Not Account Deletion

If your goal is only to stop a subscription from renewing, use the appropriate subscription-management action.

Do not delete the domain or account only to cancel future renewal.

The relevant actions are:

  • Cancel Auto Renewal
  • Manage Billing (Lemon Squeezy)

depending on how the active subscription is managed.

For full billing information, see:

Plans, Billing & Credit Resets

Removing an API Key from WordPress Is Also Different

Removing an API Key from:

ByTheWeb AI > API Connection & Credits

changes the connection stored in that WordPress installation.

It does not perform the same action as:

  • Cancelling automatic renewal
  • Permanently deleting the registered domain
  • Deleting the ByTheWeb account

These actions are managed separately.

For more information, see:

Changing / Removing a Connected Domain

Where Should I Manage Plans and Credits?

For the current WordPress website, open:

ByTheWeb AI > API Connection & Credits

This screen is designed for the connected website and provides access to its current plan, credits, subscription packages, and Extra Credit packages where available.

The ByTheWeb account dashboard provides the broader account view across your registered domains.
