Getting Started

Install & Activate

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New in WordPress.
  2. Search for ByTheWeb AI (or upload the plugin ZIP if installing manually).
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.
  4. You’ll see a new admin menu: ByTheWeb AI.

Recommended first action: Run Site Analysis, then check SEO Audit (Yoast) for quick wins.

Where to Find the Plugin?

Open the admin sidebar and click ByTheWeb AI → Dashboard.

SEO Audit reads SEO Title, Focus Keyword, and Meta Description from the Yoast SEO plugin.
To use SEO Audit, Yoast must be installed and active.

Site Analysis + Dashboard Alerts (Free)

What it does: A centralized report that highlights missing site elements and helps you prioritize fixes.

How to use

  1. Go to ByTheWeb AI → Site Analysis
  2. Review the report and alerts
  3. Fix the most important gaps across pages/posts/CPTs

SEO Audit (Yoast) (Free, Yoast required)

What it does: Shows Yoast metadata across your entire site in one table.

You can review

  • Post title
  • SEO Title (Yoast)
  • Focus Keyword
  • Meta Description
  • Action: Edit

How to use

  1. Go to ByTheWeb AI → SEO Audit
  2. Look for Missing fields
  3. Click Edit to update the page/post

FAQ Builder (Pages/Posts/CPTs) (Free + AI Add-On)

Why it’s powerful: FAQs turn pages into clear Q&A that’s easier for users and AI systems to extract and reference (GEO).

Manual FAQs (Free)

  • Add/edit FAQ items on any page/post/CPT
  • Full control: create, reorder, refine, remove

AI FAQ Generation (AI Add-On)

  • Generate FAQ suggestions from the page content
  • Review and edit before publishing

Media Optimization (Images) (Free + AI Add-On)

What it does: Helps you manage image Alt/Title/Caption/Description for stronger context and accessibility.

Featured Image Generator (AI Add-On)

What it does: Generates a realistic featured image for posts/pages/CPTs inside WordPress.

Typical flow

  • Generate the image
  • Set as featured image or save to media and retry
  • Optionally edit image SEO fields for the generated image

AI Article Wizard (New AI Article) (AI Add-On)

What it does: Generates structured drafts inside WordPress and keeps everything editable before publishing.

How to use

  1. Go to ByTheWeb AI → New AI Article
  2. Follow the wizard steps to generate a structured draft
  3. Review and edit
  4. Optionally add FAQ + featured image
  5. Save draft or publish

Auto Pilot (AI Add-On)

What it does: Scheduled content workflow that works for you (queues + publishing mode + history).

How to use

  1. Go to ByTheWeb AI → Auto Pilot
  2. Configure schedule and workflow (draft or auto-publish)
  3. Add topics to the queue
  4. Track history and adjust

Troubleshooting

SEO Audit is empty / shows “Missing”

Most common causes

  • Yoast is not installed/active
  • Pages have never been saved with Yoast fields
  • You’re checking a CPT without Yoast data

Fix

  1. Install/activate Yoast SEO
  2. Edit a page → fill Yoast title/description → update
  3. Return to SEO Audit and refresh

I can’t access AI features (Wizard / Auto Pilot / generation buttons)

Cause

  • AI Add-On is not enabled / no active credits
  • Account/license state is not connected

Fix

  1. Go to ByTheWeb AI → License & Credits
  2. Follow the activation steps shown there
  3. Return to the feature and try again

Generated content or images are not saving

Common causes

  • Permissions/roles restrictions
  • Uploads/media permissions
  • Security plugins blocking admin requests

Fix

  • Test with an admin account
  • Confirm Media Library uploads work normally
  • Temporarily whitelist the plugin screens/endpoints in security tools (if needed)

Is the plugin free to download?
Yes — you can download and install it from WordPress.org.

Do I need this if I already have an SEO plugin?
Yes — ByTheWeb AI does not replace your SEO plugin. It complements it by helping optimize your site for AI-based search (GEO), and includes a dedicated SEO Audit view for Yoast SEO.

Do I need Yoast?
Only for the SEO Audit feature.

Does it support CPTs?
Yes — pages, posts, and custom post types are supported.

Can I edit everything before publishing?
Yes — all generated output is editable before publishing.

Will this slow down my website?
The plugin is designed to run efficiently inside WordPress, while AI generation is handled through the add-on workflow.
