Getting Started

Install & Activate

  1. Go to Plugins โ†’ Add New in WordPress.
  2. Search for ByTheWeb AI (or upload the plugin ZIP if installing manually).
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.
  4. Youโ€™ll see a new admin menu: ByTheWeb AI.

Recommended first action: Run Site Analysis, then check SEO Audit (Yoast) for quick wins.

Connect API Key

  • Yoast is not installed/active
  • Pages have never been saved with Yoast fields
  • Youโ€™re checking a CPT without Yoast data

Fix

  1. Install/activate Yoast SEO
  2. Edit a page โ†’ fill Yoast title/description โ†’ update
  3. Return to SEO Audit and refresh

  • Account/license state is not connected

Which User Roles can use the AI features?
Security is our top priority. ByTheWeb AI strictly follows WordPress capability standards to ensure that only authorized users can access the AI tools or modify plugin settings.
The access is divided into two main categories:
1. Content Generation & Editing (Articles, Images, FAQ Schema):
Only users with the `edit_posts` capability can generate or modify content using AI. This means that only **Administrators, Editors, Authors, and Contributors** have access to the AI Article Wizard, Image Generator, and Media Optimizer. Standard users like Subscribers or Customers cannot generate content or consume your API credits.
2. System Settings & Auto Pilot Configuration:
Only users with the `manage_options` or `edit_others_posts` capabilities can change the core settings of the plugin. This means that only **Administrators and Editors** can configure the AI Auto Pilot, manage the AI queue, update pricing caches, or modify the License Key.

Can my subscribers or store customers use the AI to generate content?
No. Users with the “Subscriber” or “Customer” roles do not have the required capabilities (`edit_posts` or `manage_options`) to trigger any AI actions. Your API credits are completely safe from unauthorized usage.
