ByTheWeb GEO can add or enrich Article structured data for your WordPress blog posts.
When ByTheWeb GEO manages your site’s Schema, it creates an Article entity for each WordPress Post while the feature is enabled.
If Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO is managing the site’s core Schema instead, ByTheWeb GEO preserves the existing Article or BlogPosting entity and enriches it with supported GEO data rather than creating a competing Article.
Where to Enable Article Schema
In WordPress, go to:
ByTheWeb GEO > GEO Settings > Entity & Schema
Find the Article Schema section.
Enable:
Enable Article Schema on Posts
The feature is enabled by default.
You can also click View Details to see the current Article Schema behavior for your site’s active SEO and Schema provider.
Which Content Uses Article Schema?
The Article Schema feature applies specifically to standard WordPress Posts.
It does not automatically create Article Schema for:
- Pages
- Custom Post Types
- Categories, Tags, or other taxonomy archives
Other content types can use the appropriate structured data features provided by ByTheWeb GEO, such as Page Type Schema.
What ByTheWeb Adds to Article Schema
When ByTheWeb GEO is managing the site’s Schema, each eligible WordPress Post receives an Article entity containing information taken directly from WordPress and the ByTheWeb GEO fields.
The Article can include:
Headline
Taken from the WordPress post title.
Author
Taken from the WordPress author assigned to the post.
Date Published
Taken from the post’s WordPress publication date.
Date Modified
Taken from the post’s latest WordPress modified date.
Main Page Relationship
The Article is connected to the WebPage representing the current post.
Publisher
When the ByTheWeb Primary Entity is enabled, the Article can reference that entity as its publisher.
Short Answer
When present, the post’s Short Answer is added as the Schema.org abstract property.
AI Summary
When present, the post’s AI Summary is added as the Article description.
Article Image
When an applicable social or Open Graph image is available, ByTheWeb GEO can reference it as the Article image and thumbnail.

Author Information
You do not configure a separate Article author inside the ByTheWeb GEO Article Schema settings.
ByTheWeb uses the WordPress author assigned to the post.
When ByTheWeb GEO creates the Article Schema itself, it also creates a Person author entity using:
Name: the author’s WordPress display name
URL: the author’s WordPress author archive URL
Changing the assigned post author or the author’s WordPress display name changes the information used by the Article Schema.
Published and Modified Dates
Article dates are also taken automatically from WordPress.
datePublished uses the post’s publication date.
dateModified uses the post’s current modified date.
There are no separate Article Schema date fields to maintain in ByTheWeb GEO.
Short Answer and AI Summary
Short Answers and AI Summaries are managed individually on each post in the ByTheWeb GEO panel.
When Article Schema is enabled:
Short Answer can enrich the Article with abstract.
AI Summary can enrich the Article with description.
These fields are optional. Article Schema does not require a Short Answer or AI Summary in order to operate.

Publisher and the Primary Entity
When ByTheWeb GEO manages the site’s Schema and Primary Entity Schema is enabled, the Article can reference the site’s primary Organization or Person as its publisher.
The Primary Entity is configured separately under Entity & Schema.

What Happens with Yoast SEO?
When Yoast SEO is active, Yoast remains responsible for creating the site’s core Article or BlogPosting entity and its relationships.
ByTheWeb GEO does not create a competing Article.
Instead, when Enable Article Schema on Posts is enabled and Yoast has provided a supported Article, BlogPosting, or NewsArticle entity:
Short Answer is added as abstract.
AI Summary is added as the Article description.
The Article type, author relationships, publisher relationships, IDs, and other core Article structure remain under Yoast’s control.
What Happens with Rank Math SEO?
When Rank Math SEO is active, Rank Math remains responsible for creating the core Article or BlogPosting entity.
ByTheWeb GEO enriches an existing supported Article, BlogPosting, or NewsArticle entity without creating fallback Article or author entities inside Rank Math’s Schema graph.
Short Answer is added as abstract.
AI Summary can be used as the Article description when Rank Math has not already provided an Article description.
If Rank Math already provides the Article description, that existing description remains unchanged.

Do I Need to Configure Every Post?
No separate Article Schema form is required for each post.
Once Enable Article Schema on Posts is enabled, ByTheWeb uses the existing WordPress post information automatically.
You only need to edit optional GEO fields such as the Short Answer and AI Summary when you want to add that additional structured information.
Does Article Schema Use AI Credits?
No.
Article Schema generation and Schema enrichment are local ByTheWeb GEO features and do not require an API connection or AI credits.
You can also enter the Short Answer and AI Summary manually without using AI credits.
AI credits are only involved if you choose to use an AI-powered feature to generate content for those fields.
Recommended Setup
- Go to ByTheWeb GEO > GEO Settings > Entity & Schema.
- Keep Enable Article Schema on Posts enabled.
- Configure your Primary Entity if you want ByTheWeb’s standalone Article Schema connected to your site entity.
- Make sure each post has the correct WordPress author.
- Add a useful Short Answer and AI Summary where appropriate.
- Configure your Social Image / Open Graph settings if you want a suitable image available for the Article.
- If Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO is active, keep the external provider responsible for its core Article Schema while ByTheWeb GEO adds the supported GEO enrichment.
