ByTheWeb GEO provides structured data tools for defining who or what your website represents, where your business operates, which services it provides, and how important website content should be represented in Schema.

What Is Entity & Schema?
Structured data provides machine-readable information about your website and its content.
ByTheWeb GEO uses Schema.org structured data to describe supported entities and relationships such as:
- The primary Organization or Person represented by the website
- Physical Business Locations
- Customer Support contact information
- Services provided by the organization
- Article or BlogPosting content
- Page Types
- Breadcrumbs
- FAQ content
Different Schema features are configured in different parts of ByTheWeb GEO. The main site-wide business and entity settings are grouped together under Entity & Schema.
What Is Included in the Entity & Schema Screen?
The current Entity & Schema screen contains five main sections:
- Primary Entity
- Business Locations
- Customer Support Contact
- Services
- Article Schema
Each section controls a different part of the site’s structured entity data.
Primary Entity
The Primary Entity defines the main Organization or Person represented by the website.
You can configure supported identity information and official profile links using sameAs.
When ByTheWeb GEO manages the site’s core Schema, it can create the applicable Organization or Person entity.
When Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO manages the core Schema, the active SEO provider keeps ownership of the primary entity and ByTheWeb GEO can enrich that existing entity with supported GEO data.

Business Locations
The Business Locations section lets you add one or more physical business locations.
Each location can contain its own information, including:
- Location or branch name
- Schema.org LocalBusiness type
- Address
- Phone
- Latitude and Longitude
- Service area
- Opening hours
ByTheWeb GEO supports LocalBusiness together with more specific supported LocalBusiness descendant types.
You can create multiple locations when the organization operates from more than one physical location.

Customer Support Contact
The Customer Support Contact section provides dedicated ContactPoint settings for the main customer support channel.
Supported information includes details such as:
- Phone
- Service area
- Site language
The support ContactPoint is separate from a Business Location and is intended to describe the organization’s customer support contact.
When an external supported SEO provider owns the primary entity, ByTheWeb GEO can connect the ContactPoint to that existing entity when Primary Entity Enrichment is enabled.

Services
The Services section lets you create multiple Service entities.
Each Service can have its own:
- Name
- Service type
- Description
- URL
- Service area
Separate Service entries are useful when the organization provides different services that should be represented individually.
When Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO owns the primary entity, ByTheWeb GEO can link supported Service entities to that existing entity when Primary Entity Enrichment is enabled.

Article Schema
The Article Schema section controls Article structured data for WordPress Posts.
When ByTheWeb GEO manages the applicable Schema, it can provide Article structured data and enrich it with supported ByTheWeb GEO content such as:
- Short Answer
- AI Summary
When Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO already provides the Article or BlogPosting entity, ByTheWeb GEO does not create a competing Article entity. It enriches the supported existing entity instead.

ByTheWeb GEO uses provider-aware Schema integration.
When Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO is active, that provider remains responsible for its core Schema graph and primary entities.
ByTheWeb GEO can continue adding or enriching supported GEO-focused structured data such as:
- Business Locations
- Services
- Customer Support ContactPoint
- Short Answer
- AI Summary
- FAQ data
The goal is to extend the existing supported Schema graph rather than create competing Organization, Person, WebPage, Article, Author, or Publisher entities.
The Entity & Schema screen also displays provider-specific guidance when an external supported SEO provider is active.

What Is Primary Entity Enrichment?
When Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO owns the site’s primary entity, the Primary Entity control changes from creating a new core entity to enriching the provider’s existing entity.
In this state, the interface uses:
Enable Primary Entity Enrichment
instead of:
Enable Primary Entity Schema
This allows ByTheWeb GEO to work with the supported primary entity already present in the external provider’s Schema graph.
Are All Schema Features Located on This Screen?
No.
The Entity & Schema screen contains the main site-wide entity, location, support, service, and Article settings.
Other ByTheWeb GEO structured data features are configured elsewhere.
These include:
FAQ Schema
FAQ data can be added to supported Posts, Pages, and Taxonomy terms.

ByTheWeb GEO can provide BreadcrumbList structured data and optional visible breadcrumbs when applicable.

Do Entity & Schema Features Use AI Credits?
No.
Configuring and generating the supported ByTheWeb GEO Schema itself does not require AI credits or a ByTheWeb AI API connection.
AI credits are relevant only when you intentionally use a supported AI-generation feature.
Do Business Location Tools Use External Services?
The structured data itself does not require the ByTheWeb Cloud AI service.
However, the Business Location interface includes optional external location tools.
When you actively click Fetch from Address, the entered physical address is sent from the browser to OpenStreetMap Nominatim so Latitude and Longitude can be returned.
The location settings can also display a Google Maps preview using the stored coordinates. Loading that preview connects the browser to Google Maps.
These location tools are separate from AI generation and do not require AI credits.
Does Schema Guarantee Search Rankings or AI Recommendations?
No.
Structured data provides machine-readable information about your website, entities, content, locations, and relationships.
Search engines and AI platforms determine independently how they crawl, process, display, rank, cite, or use that information.
ByTheWeb GEO does not guarantee a particular ranking, rich result, citation, or AI recommendation.
Recommended Setup Order
A practical order is:
- Open ByTheWeb GEO > GEO Settings > Entity & Schema.
- Configure the Primary Entity as an Organization or Person.
- Add official
sameAsprofile links where appropriate. - Add Business Locations if the organization has physical locations.
- Configure the main Customer Support Contact if applicable.
- Add the organization’s Services where relevant.
- Review the Article Schema setting for WordPress Posts.
- Configure Page Type, FAQ, and Breadcrumb Schema separately where applicable.
- If Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO is active, review the provider notice shown by ByTheWeb GEO before changing the Schema settings.
