ByTheWeb GEO lets you define the main entity represented by your website as either an Organization or a Person.
The Primary Entity can include an official name, description, supported Organization contact details, and sameAs links to official profiles.

Where to Configure the Primary Entity
In WordPress, go to:
ByTheWeb GEO > GEO Settings > Entity & Schema
Find the Primary Entity section and click Configure Entity.
When ByTheWeb GEO is managing the primary entity itself, the option is called:
Enable Primary Entity Schema
When Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO is managing the site’s core Schema, the option changes to:
Enable Primary Entity Enrichment
Choose Organization or Person
Under This site represents, choose the entity that best represents the website:
- Company / Organization – for a company, business, organization, agency, association, or similar entity.
- Person (Personal Blog / Portfolio) – when the website primarily represents an individual person.
The selected type determines whether the primary structured entity is treated as an Organization or Person when ByTheWeb GEO is responsible for creating it.
Configure the Entity Details
Click Configure Entity to review the available fields.
Entity Name
Enter the official name of the organization or person represented by the website.
If no custom value has been saved, the field initially uses the WordPress site name.
Entity Description
Enter a short, factual description of the organization, business, or person.
If no custom value has been saved, the field initially uses the WordPress site description.
Public Email Address
Enter a public email address for the Organization.
On a site where no value has yet been saved, this field may initially display the WordPress administration email. Review the address before saving and make sure it is an email address you intend to use as public Organization information.
Phone Number
Enter the main public phone number for the Organization.
Primary Address
Enter the main public address of the Organization in a clear readable format, including the street, city, and country where applicable.
For example:
350 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY, United States
The Public Email Address, Phone Number, and Primary Address are added to the primary entity when that entity is an Organization. They are not added to a Person primary entity.
Add Official Profiles with sameAs
The Official Profiles section lets you add URLs that identify the same Organization or Person on other trusted platforms.
ByTheWeb GEO uses these URLs as Schema.org sameAs references.
The current profile types include:
- YouTube
- X / Twitter
- WordPress.org
- GitHub
- Crunchbase
- Google Business Profile
- Wikipedia / Wikidata
- Other
Add only URLs that genuinely represent the same entity defined as your Primary Entity.
You can add multiple official profile references where needed.
How Is the Logo Selected?
There is no separate Logo field inside the Primary Entity settings.
When ByTheWeb GEO creates the primary Organization or Person entity and a WordPress Custom Logo is available, the plugin can use that logo in the structured data.
For a Person entity, the same Custom Logo image can also be referenced as the entity image.
If you need to change this image, update the site’s WordPress Custom Logo rather than looking for a separate logo field inside ByTheWeb GEO.
What Happens with Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO?
ByTheWeb GEO uses provider-aware Schema integration.
When Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO is active, the external provider remains responsible for the site’s core primary entity. ByTheWeb GEO does not replace the provider’s core entity type, ID, name, or URL.
Instead, when Enable Primary Entity Enrichment is enabled, ByTheWeb GEO can enrich the existing supported primary entity with configured data.
This includes:
- Adding configured
sameAsURLs alongside existingsameAsreferences. - Adding the ByTheWeb Entity Description when the existing entity does not already have a description.
- For an Organization, adding the configured email, phone, or address when the existing entity does not already provide those values.
This avoids creating competing core identities while still allowing supported ByTheWeb GEO entity data to be added to the Schema graph.

Primary Entity vs. Business Locations
The Primary Entity represents the main Organization or Person behind the website.
A Business Location represents a specific physical business location.
An Organization can therefore have one Primary Entity and multiple separate Business Locations.

Customer Support Contact Is Separate
The Public Email Address and Phone Number in the Primary Entity settings are Organization details.
ByTheWeb GEO also has a separate Customer Support Contact section for dedicated customer support ContactPoint structured data.

Does Primary Entity Schema Require AI Credits?
No.
Configuring the Primary Entity, adding official profile references, and generating or enriching the supported Organization or Person structured data do not require a ByTheWeb AI API connection or AI credits.
Recommended Setup
- Go to ByTheWeb GEO > GEO Settings > Entity & Schema.
- Make sure the Primary Entity feature is enabled.
- Click Configure Entity.
- Choose Company / Organization or Person.
- Review the Entity Name and Description.
- If using Organization, review the public email, phone number, and primary address.
- Add relevant official profile URLs under Official Profiles.
- Save the settings.
- If Yoast SEO or Rank Math SEO is active, review the provider notice and use Primary Entity Enrichment rather than expecting ByTheWeb GEO to replace the provider’s core identity.
